Stockport Walkers

'A' Walks are energetic and are usually between 8 and 10 miles in length at a good pace. They take place on both Wednesdays and Sundays.

Stockport Walkers

'B' Walks take place on both Wednesdays and Saturdays. They are usually between 6 and 8 miles in length at a moderate pace.

Stockport Walkers

'C' Walks are more relaxed and are usually between 4 and 6 miles in length at a gentler pace. They take place on Wednesdays .


What time do the walks start?
Walks normally start at 10.30am unless otherwise stated in the walks programme.

Where are the walks?
Walks are generally circular and take place in a wide variety of areas:
Greater Manchester
Derbyshire and Derbyshire Peak District
Cheshire
Staffordshire
Lancashire
Yorkshire
Bramhall, Cheadle Hulme, Poynton etc
Wales

Where can I find details of the walks?
Members of our walking group receive a printed booklet three times a year with short details of the walks, information about the social events and holidays and other items of importance to a walking club.

How do I get to the start of a walk?
We mostly travel by car to the start of a walk and car sharing is encouraged.

Who leads the walks?
Walks are planned and lead by club members and listed in the Walks Programme.

What should I wear? What should I bring?
Please choose a walk level suitable for your ability. It is essential for walkers to come dressed in footwear and clothing suitable for all weather and terrain conditions. Please also bring your picnic lunch and drinks and snacks for breaks. Sorry, dogs are not allowed on our walks.
