PEAK AND NORTHERN FOOTPATHS SOCIETY REPRESENTATIVE
Members have sometimes asked "What does our Peak and Northern Footpaths Society representative do?"
If you come across a broken or dangerous stile or an area of footpath that is impassable then please contact our representative (see the Walks Programme for name and telephone number).
Alternatively, any damage can be notified to PNFS there and then using their Path Checker App which you can find here on the

FAME AT LAST or ON THE TELLY!
Stockport Walkers were featured on 'BBC News at Six' on Thursday 24th August 2018! A film crew joined our A group, shot some footage of boots and rucksacks and our members walking and interviewed one of the walkers about the health benefits he had experienced from walking. This was in connection with a recommendation that people should walk more/faster.

WALKERS ARE WELCOME
Over 100 towns and villages are affiliated to 'Walkers are Welcome'. Walkers know that, if they see the friendly footprint logo,
they are assured of a warm welcome throughout the town, a good path network and waymarked walks round about.
The towns and villages also host walking festivals at various times of the year.
